  • Together for Girls.   Research on which the Violence Against Children and Youth Surveys (VACS) were designed, a project led by country leadership with technical assistance from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as part of a partnership with Together for Girls.  VACS are nationally representative population-based surveys13- to 24-year old males and females.  VACS are designed to measure the prevalence, past 12-month incidence and circumstances surrounding sexual, physical and  emotional violence in childhood, adolescence (before age 18) and young adulthood (ages 18 to 24 years).  They surveys also identify risk actors, protective factors and consequences of violence.  VACS results are published in national reports, used in the development of national action plans, and guide effective evidence-based programs and policies.
